ICPMGET 2024

Energy needs to grow as the population increases. The United Nations estimates that the world’s population will reach 9 billion in 2050, causing efforts to provide energy to become more intense. It becomes a challenge for developing countries because, in the 2008–2035 period, non-OECD countries are estimated to drive 83% of total growth in world energy demand. Furthermore, the global energy system is evolving and diversifying, including a drive for a lower carbon intensity and scaled-up production of renewable energy sources. However, hydrocarbon resources are vital for transportation fuels, baseload grid power, and source materials in many industrial sectors. Therefore, developing and optimizing energy resources, either hydrocarbon resources or renewable energy sources, is required to address energy demand.

Developing and optimizing the energy sector, either hydrocarbon resources or renewable sources, has its challenges. For instance, hydrocarbon resources are the most economical and practical forms of energy. However, hydrocarbon resources have significant issues in the environment. Renewable sources have the advantage of being environmentally friendly, but they must create a sustainable energy infrastructure and need research and development to help increase their efficiency.

The discussions from the experts in each knowledge sector could synergize those challenges in developing energy sectors. The International Conference of Petroleum, Mining, Geology, Geoscience, Energy, and Environmental (ICPMGET) 2024, which is held by the Faculty of Earth and Energy Technology (FTKE) Universitas Trisakti, could facilitate the sharing and discussion, with the theme “Empowering of Earth Resources for Sustainability Energy”.

This event aims to share and open constructive discussion between researchers, academia, government, and practitioners from industry in the energy sector to foster better knowledge of the world’s excellent practices to overcome the challenges in empowering earth resources for sustainable energy.

Aims and Goals

The aims and goals of this event are as follows:

  1. To provide an open, constructive discussion and sharing between researchers, academia, government, and practitioners from industry in the energy sector to foster better knowledge of the world’s excellent practices to overcome the challenges in empowering earth resources for sustainable energy.
  2. To provide insights and a comprehensive understanding of developing and optimizing the earth’s resources, including petroleum, geology, geoscience, mining, and environmental technology.
  3. To provide insights and up-to-date knowledge in the energy sector, either hydrocarbon resources or renewable energy.
  4. To facilitate the constructive exchange of information, ideas, study or research findings, best practices, and lessons identified among the researchers and practitioners.
  5. To provide collaboration between researchers, academia, government, and practitioners for developing research in the energy sector.
  6. To publish research results or study findings in international conference proceedings to contribute to scientific knowledge.

The primary goal of this event is to contribute ideas on improving economic growth by recognizing the challenges and opportunities of earth resources and energy exploration, exploitation, and extraction.
